This Privacy Policy describes how Hampton Capital ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Halt Scanner mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Device Information: When you enable push notifications, we collect your device token (a unique identifier assigned by Apple Push Notification service) and a device vendor identifier. These are used solely to deliver push notifications to your device.

Usage Analytics: We use RevenueCat (subscription management), PostHog (product analytics), and Apple's AdServices framework (install attribution) to understand how the App is used and how installs are acquired. Together these may collect:

Device type and operating system version
App version
Product interaction, such as screens viewed, features used, and onboarding or paywall steps completed
Anonymous identifiers assigned by these services and by your device
Install attribution data (which App Store campaign, if any, led to your install)

This information is collected in a form that is not linked to your identity, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. The App does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not ask you to allow tracking.

Subscription Information: Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID credentials. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status and to record subscription events such as trial starts, renewals, and cancellations. This includes your purchase history, but not your payment details.

Information We Do NOT Collect:

Personal identity information (name, email, phone number)
Location data
Contacts or address book
Photos, camera, or microphone data
Browsing history
Financial or brokerage account information

2. How We Use Information

Push Notifications: Device tokens are sent to our server (hosted on Fly.io) to deliver real-time trading halt alerts.
Analytics: Anonymous usage and product-interaction data helps us understand how the App is used, measure our onboarding and subscription funnel, and improve the experience.
Subscription Verification: Transaction data is validated through Apple and RevenueCat to verify your subscription status and unlock Premium features.

3. Data Storage and Security

Device tokens are stored on our server hosted on Fly.io for the sole purpose of sending push notifications. We use HTTPS for all data transmission. No personal information is stored on our servers.

Filter preferences and app settings are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms and are not transmitted to any server.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

Apple: Handles subscription purchases and billing (App Store) and provides install attribution (AdServices). Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat: Subscription management, purchase verification, and attribution. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
PostHog: Product analytics (anonymous usage and funnel data). Subject to PostHog's Privacy Policy.
NASDAQ Trader: Public RSS feed for trading halt data. No user data is shared with NASDAQ.
FinViz: Public stock data pages. No user data is shared with FinViz.
Fly.io: Server infrastructure for push notification delivery.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may only be disclosed if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

Refund requests: If you request a refund from Apple for an in-app purchase, you consent to our sharing information about your usage and consumption of the App with Apple, including your activity in the App and your purchase history, to help Apple resolve the request. Apple makes the final decision on all refunds.

6. Data Retention

Device tokens are retained on our server for as long as they remain valid for push notification delivery. When a token becomes invalid (e.g., the app is uninstalled), it is automatically removed. Analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymous form.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your Rights

You can:

Disable push notifications at any time through your iOS Settings
Delete the App to remove all locally stored data
Request deletion of your device token from our server by contacting us

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
